What Your Daughter Gets

Real Training. Every Week.

This is not a rec-league drop-off. Basin Elite is a coached development program — roughly six hours of structured basketball every week, built toward real competition.

Two Gym Practices

Two hours each, twice a week, coached in person by Dr. Weems — fundamentals, conditioning, team sets. Gym and days are in the season schedule below.

Two Virtual Trainings

Two guided programs a week she runs at home — ball-handling, footwork, film and IQ work. Assigned, tracked, and reviewed at practice.

Game & Tournament Coaching

Every scrimmage, tournament, and league game — bench-coached by Dr. Weems. Game reps are where the training cashes out.

The Nonprofit Behind It

This team is Basin Elite — a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, with team fundraisers available to help families with costs. No girl priced off the roster.

Practice Schedule

Two Sessions a Week — By the Season.

The team trains twice a week year-round, and the hours rotate with the school calendar. The two days are yours to choose — pick your best two at registration and Coach sets the schedule around the team.

Now – August

Summer

Two afternoons a week · 3:00–5:30 PM. Full-length training while school is out — skill work, conditioning, and team sets.

Fall · School Year

Fall Semester

Two weekday evenings · 5:30–7:30 PM. Shifted later so practice works around the school day.

Spring · School Year

Spring Semester

Two weekday evenings · 5:30–7:30 PM. Same evening rhythm straight through league season.

Which two days? You tell us.

The two days are tentative — likely a weekday plus a weekend day, or two weekday evenings — and the group settles it together. Pick your best two on the registration form and we lock the season around what fits the most families.
Practices run throughout the week at gyms across the circuit — Greater Ideal Community Center, the PAC Center, the Midland Syndicate, the McCamey ISD and Imperial (Buena Vista ISD) high school gyms, Grandfalls-Royalty High School, and the Boys & Girls Club. Coach texts each week's gym with the schedule.

The Season Plan

From First Practice to League Play

Every stop has a purpose: reps first, pressure second, leagues third. By the time league play opens, this team will have already played real games together.

1
August · Tune-Up Month

Scrimmage Circuit

August is for getting game-ready: two practices a week while Coach Weems lines up tune-up games with area programs across McCamey · Imperial · Crane · Odessa — scrimmages in Midland in the mix too. Live-game reps against real opponents before league ball opens. Every matchup is announced the moment it's confirmed — in the team chat and by text. Nothing lands on the family calendar until it's real.

2
League Season

Double League Play

Dr. Weems coaches the girls through both leagues — Boys & Girls Club of Midland and Boys & Girls Club of Odessa. League registration and fees are each family's responsibility; the coaching is covered, so no season is sat out for lack of a coach.
